Whether you’re writing a blog post or drafting an ad campaign, there might be a lot of information to get across. Infographics are a hugely popular way to make data or facts engaging, and they work very well on social media. Like all visual content, they attract attention and are highly sharable. If you aren’t already using infographics, you should consider adding them to your marketing repertoire. Luckily, there are enough tools available today that you can create simple but polished infographics without being (or hiring) a graphic designer.

The first step in creating any infographic is to collect the data or information you want to share. Remember to keep track of your data’s sources so that you can cite them. Then choose an infographic type that fits your data. Do you want a flowchart, a collection of graphs, a pictoral representation? You can find a bunch of free and affordable infographic templates on sites like Piktochart and Hubspot. If you want to create your own infographic but could use some premade graphic elements, you can try Canva.

Remember to keep things simple; the goal of an inforaphic is to make its points clear. Each piece of information should be short and simple. If you need text to explain, keep simplifying. If you want to expand more, include any other details in an accompanying blog post instead of within the infographic itself.

And have some fun with it! Bright colors and colorful graphics will make your infographic engaging.
