If you have decided to host your own e-commerce website, you still need to choose a platform. We list some of our favorites below.

Magento

Magento is an open-source platform that’s a favorite among large retailers. It may be a bit much for small businesses or for companies without some web development expertise. For larger businesses looking for a thorough, flexible platform, however, Magento is a trusted choice.

WooCommerce

WooCommerce is a flexible, slightly more accessible platform that’s extremely popular among small businesses. It’s a WordPress plugin, so it will feel familiar if you’ve used WordPress before.

OpenCart

OpenCart is another great open-source platform that’s particularly targeted towards international businesses. The platform supports 20 payment gateways plus a wide range of currencies and shipping options. This makes selling products around the world a lot easier.
