Location Location Location

Facebook PlacesThe latest new social media innovation to get significant attention is ‘here’! Indeed, it’s here, there and everywhere! You guessed it. I’m talking about location based services.

Facebook recently launched its new product, Facebook Places, to the market. With other location based services such as Foursquare increasing in popularity – you should know that your customers are becoming an active part of this latest trend.

But what are location based services? And when do they become relevant to our businesses?

Well, location based services allow people to connect to each other by sharing facts about a location. For example I may want to tell my friends: “I’m here! You can meet me if you like!”
…or I might feel compelled to express my dining experience with the world:
“I recommend the salad, very nice!”
It’s all about ranking and distributing information in a way that bares relevance to our geographical whereabouts.

How might we use this?

As location based services catch on, (and they’re not exactly main stream just yet) the services present a greater opportunity to be discoverable to potential customers lurking nearby. As well as this, its easier to identify customers as regulars.

Starbucks are leveraging off this phenomenon by giving certain customers discounts! Read this blog post to learn how:

The question is – how are you going to leverage your location?

That’s all for now folks,

New Team Members

I’m delighted to announce that we have some new team members joining us and who have joined us!

We have Leandra, my new PA, who has now been with us for a month. Leandra was referred to me by a friend and has brought peace to my busy business life! She has subbed for me at a business networking group I attend, and been very well received and popular there, as well as helping me to organise the biggest birthday bash ever! Her calmness and organisational abilities have been great and well needed as my support.

We have James, our resident wordsmith. James will be supporting me on writing blog posts, ebooks and messages all containing useful, interesting and relevant information to social media, and social media trends. When James mentioned that his passion was to write – I knew we’d found a perfect New Media Angels blogger!James has a good grasp on how to write for a wider audience, and I look forward to sharing some of his work with you shortly.

We have Sam, our Strategy and Entrepreneurship Graduate. Sam has already been working with me on our new business plan, structure and website redesign (coming soon). He has a good common sense head on his shoulders and bring strong thought leadership to the team. His advice, feedback and suggestions have so far been invaluable, and you will soon see some of these changes!

We have Jamie, our new Facebook Angel. After a long search and waiting for the right person, I’m delighted that Jamie decided to join us. He brings cheeriness, common sense, and a friendly conversational style to the New Media Angels brand, perfect for connecting with your target market and building those necessary relationships with your clients. He has already done some work for the groups I run on facebook, and suffice to say I have no hesitation in him doing great work across client accounts.

We have Roberto, our new Setup Angel. As our lovely Selina is leaving us at the end of September to focus on her studies and leaves big shoes to fill, I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to find someone to fill her place! However, I’m delighted as she has introduced me to her brother to fill her role, and after meeting with him today can safely say that the apple doesn’t fall far from the family tree! A lovely young man who brings IT and html experience to the team.

I’m sure you will join me in welcoming them to the team, as well as a big thank you to my existing team members who help make us a very strong growing company, with the ability to now clearly meet client needs!

Have a great weekend
Cemanthe

Testimonial from incognito

I was very impressed with Cemanthe’s talk at Westminster Reference Library, she had a great deal of knowledge with practical examples of how she & her amazing Angels had helped companies like incognito.

After hiring New Media Angels on a 3 month trial, I am more than happy to renew our contract as she has not only helped grow our business, both directly & indirectly, but she & her staff have been so professional it has been my delight to work with her.
